Brilliant good ENGLISH COMEDY
Every Ray Stewart penalty ive seen, he blasted to the right from keeper s point of view. Therefore was surprised to see the keeper go the opposite way.
I was born into a big part of West Ham and I’m honoured to be a cearns
My family
Another memorable night game at UP, the same season we lost in the final to Liverpool, but got promoted from second division. I watched this match from west side terrace, the Spurs had 8000+ that night,, id only known Chelsea in march 78 and Villa (FA cup) in march 80 to be allocated the whole southbank up till then, although Coventry had the same in next round the semis. My mate Jono still talks about how a mob of west ham got in with the spurs but were forced into the s.e corner, he jumped up when cross scored and a 'known' Spurs lad nutted him bursting his nose all over his Benetton jumper 😅....his claim to fame!
spurs held their own that night
@@henryclarke5363 your right, that was the most Spurs id seen at Upton park, i rhink Spurs were expected to win that game as they were a division above us. Great atmosphere back then, you had to have your wits about you even on way home, glad we lived them times. 👍
up the hammers
eric sykes was in up the polls with alf garnett a till death us do part special
One the greats👏
I was born in Percy Rd Canning Town 1942. My Grandfather was racing cyclist and raced on the memorial ground track, he broke his nose coming off the banking when he ran into the rider in front, he rode his bike till he was in his late eighties.
Thanks so much for posting.
This is like the Harry Enfield clip 🤣⚒

My older brother took me here back in the 70,s when i was 10 walking from manor park, bought me a Claret & Blue striped scarf from the shop for a £1 getting up on his shoulders in old Southbank, he passed away 2 weeks ago so all the memories are flooding back, he also took me Chelsea away that day il never forget, great to see the old WEST SIDE at the end, so good i took the name but only for the certified insane 😉RIP BROTHER X ⚒
Phil Thompson's perm, calm down calm down!
Kenny Lynch went to School with his nice
I miss Nathan,s as much as Upton park , best liquor in London
A bit of irrelevant-ish trivia - Numbers 1, 5, 8, 9 and 10 for Liverpool in this match all stopped off at Tranmere later in their careers. Furthermore, they played a fair few first team league games for the Rovers; Tommy Lawrence appeared 80 times, Ron Yeats 97 (as player-manager), Steve Peplow 248, Bobby Graham 10 and Ian St. John 9.
New Year’s Day 72 the match 3-0 for the hammers
A have to say this to get it out the way but when i saw titanic in the ground it some what looked real. And its still bigger than the stadium. But all people have did is run it down. Its buried 50ft into the sea bed so it would really look huge in west ham just in height alone by so far, plus its over 100 years old at the bottom of the sea. If brand knew again this huge ship would be longer than old trafford, anfield and wembley. And would also be to wide to even fit inside wembley, and would still be much higher up at least twice over. But the 3d scan does look a bit real, but even half of it would be far to big for west ham in length and width, even today at 50ft buried into the sea bed. And so much of it has been eaten away. Ye cant help but still look at it. Its got a presence about it. In ten years it will look really bad and not as big. Well thats until you go on it and it would amaze you how big it really is. Remember it was the length of 3 parks and the width of a park and the height went into the clouds.
What a firm yids had that night over there
Best Tottenham firm of that era run them all over the place...regretted coming in the SB with us,.
I am west ham I live in Milton Keynes. After watching episode 1 2 3. It's making me wanna visit
When Sir Donald Currie - founder of The Castle Shipping Company - moved his operations from Liverpool to London in 1892 he started a football team - amongst his employees - who eventually became Old Castle Swifts. He paid his players thus making them the first professional club in Essex. In 1895 he constructed a simple enclosure on Hermit Road but withdrew the funding at the end of the season. Old Castle Swifts then folded.
UP THE 'AMMERS Rip Warren Mitchell/Alf Garnett. You silly stupid mooo...
So very good love this programme.
Bloody Coons 😃😃😃
Pike V with a blue mouth ate a tiny light meal? For ifthari
The more old footage I see the more I miss Upton Park 😢great place great days
Hey; just come across your post. Some great memories there. I started picking up back copies of Charles Buchan’s Football Monthly and World Soccer. Have recently subscribed to Backpass which has some fantastic stuff in pre Premier League
Apart from DiCanio and Ginger Pele I'm not sure if I enjoyed this. Probably feel the same after tonight's game...
Was at the game . 2 emotions on display at the end, the old guard gutted we’d gone down after 20 years, the rest happy that we’d got 2 games against Millwall next season.
Even back then you could see we were a multiracial society.
Aye your right. One scot and 2 Welsh in 250 00
Max bygraves was a Villa fan
"IRONS"
Fantastic history, I sometimes drive the 69 bus a pass Grange Road/ hermit Road and never knew about the history. Thank you very much.
SOME GOOD FOOTBALL THERE! THE 1960S WERE JUST A FANTASTIC TIME WEREN'T THEY? IT'S AMAZING WHEN YOU THINK OF 1960 AND WHAT IT WAS ALL LIKE BY 1970!
1969! IT WASN'T EVEN THE SEVENTIES! IN COLOUR AS WELL!
The West Side was rocking
WEST HAM FINISHED THIRD? FOUR POINTS BEHIND CHAMPIONS LIVERPOOL!? WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THAT WEST HAM WOULD HAVE GONE AWAY TO STRUGGLERS ASTON VILLA AND BIRMINGHAM CITY AND TAKEN NO POINTS,INSTEAD OF ALL SIX,TO WIN THE TITLE!
COME ON ALBION! SHOCKING DEFENDING!DIDN'T YOU BEAT THE INVINCIBLE S PRESTON NORTH END IN AN FA CUP FINAL IN THE 1880S OR WAS IT SOMEBODY ELSE.COME ON ALBION,GET INTO 'EM!
was there in the North Bank
Scummy murderers 😡🖕🏼🖕🏼
DURING THE 1970S AND 1980S WEST HAM HAVE PLAYED SOME GOOD CONTROLLED INTRICATE FOOTBALL.THEY'VE SCORED SOME SUPERB GOALS ON THE MATCH REVISITED.POSSIBLY THE NEXT TEAM IN LINE WHO HAVE STILL TO WIN THE LEAGUE TITLE,MUCH TO MILLIONAIRE DAVID SULLIVAN'S FRUSTRATION.THEY'VE GOT TO WIN IT SOON!
Difficult to judge a game on 20 minutes of highlights but West ham gave as good as they got.Only themselves to blame for the first goal very poor defending.Nice footage nice to see Brian Moore also.🐻🤗👍
Wow you have nice football memorabilia collection. The collection is full of historical value and memories. Regards from Indonesia :)
The obstruction at 8:30 would not be awarded today, when players can simply block an opponent without any intention of playing the ball. I wish that referees would enforce the obstruction law, rather than rely on the myth that a player within touching distance of the ball is "playing it" in some way.
Just posted on another video about this bloke, I wouldn’t want to be standing in the way of his penalties.
